Support: handle one task at a time, without guessing what the system does

Answers for setup, payments, backups, and safe issue reporting in PhoneBooth POS 26.10.4.

Set up the shop

Open More to manage products, shop details, and the owner PIN. Review product names, prices, and categories before selling, and check that the shop name is right for your receipts.

Core data is stored on this iPad. If you use more than one device, do not expect them to sync automatically.

Owner PIN

Release builds do not have a default 1234 PIN. Set your own and do not share it with staff who do not need owner functions. Repeated incorrect attempts trigger a retry delay.

If you forget the PIN, do not delete the app expecting that to erase the PIN or external backups everywhere. Use the support channel below.

Cash, transfer, and QR

PhoneBooth POS records the payment method that staff confirm manually. A QR helps a customer start a transfer, but the app is not connected to the bank and does not verify that money arrived.

  • Count cash and change before confirming.
  • Check the shop’s receiving account and transfer evidence yourself.
  • For split tender, review every part and the combined total before saving.

Back up and restore

A backup is a local JSON file that you explicitly export and import. It is not cloud sync. Keep files somewhere the shop controls, review the content and scope before importing, and retain a current backup.

When you export, iPadOS opens Apple’s share or Files interface. Destinations you choose may have their own privacy and retention policies.

Report a problem safely

Include the app version, iPad model, iPadOS version, language, steps taken, expected result, and actual result. Crop or redact screenshots so they contain only what is needed.

Do not send private data

Do not send customer names or phone numbers, bank details, transfer evidence, real backup files, or the owner PIN. Use made-up example data instead.
